In 1996, OpenText pioneered web-based collaboration and document management, introducing Livelink. Over the coming years, the Livelink portfolio grew with new capabilities to electronically control the lifecycle of what was referred to as "unstructured content".
As new technologies, such as records management, imaging and archiving, a new market segment, referred to as Enterprise Content Management (ECM), evolved. During this time, OpenText introduced Livelink ECM - Content Lifecycle Management, the first ECM platform to simplify the delivery of the solutions organizations needed to digitize paper processes. Continuously adding to this bundle, the portfolio was rebranded as OpenText Content Suite in 2012.
As a more agile approach to digital transformation was required and ECM evolved into a segment now known as content services, OpenText introduced the OpenText™ Extended ECM family, a revolutionary, integrated approach to content management. Extended ECM securely governs the information lifecycle while deeply integrating content management with leading enterprise applications, such as SAP®, Microsoft® 365, Salesforce® and SAP® SuccessFactors®. Today, this concept of extended ECM is common across all OpenText™ Content Services Platforms including OpenText Extended ECM, OpenText™ Documentum™ and OpenText™ Core.
Learn how OpenText customers around the globe are driving more value from information using the concept of connecting people, content and process to empower their organizations.
