Our Zero-In Initiative is based on the pillars of Zero Compromise, Zero Barriers, and Zero Footprint, encompassing our ESG commitments. We are passionate about making the world a better place, and we challenge ourselves every day to help our customers grow and thrive, while at the same time solving some of the most difficult challenges we face. I am proud to share our progress towards our ESG goals in our 2024 Corporate Citizenship Report, and I am very optimistic about the journey ahead.

The OpenText Zero-In Initiative

The OpenText Zero-In Initiative is our guiding framework to achieving global impact goals related to our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments and programs. Affirming our promise to harness the power of technology for the greater good, the OpenText Zero-In Initiative is focused on specific, measurable goals that leverage data to enable us to move the dial on critical global challenges.

The OpenText Zero-In Initiative is centered around three pillars:

Zero compromise

We are committed to transparency, ethical business conduct, and holding ourselves accountable to our ESG goals and continuing to foster a culture of tech for good.

Zero barriers

We are focused on having a majority ethnically diverse workforce, 50/50 gender parity within key roles, and 40% women in leadership positions at all management levels by 2030.

Zero footprint

We are committed to an emissions reduction target of 50% by 2030 and net-zero by 2050 as well as zero-waste to landfill from operations by 2030.

Zero compromise

Values and ethics

To maintain our position as a market leader, it is crucial that we earn and establish the trust of our customers, employees, investors, suppliers, and the communities in which we operate. Gaining trust starts with conducting our business to the highest standards of ethics and integrity and meeting compliance standards. There will be zero compromise when it comes to doing what is right. Our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics outlines the expectations with which we expect all employees, officers, directors, vendors, contractors, and partners to comply.

Ethical supply chain

In alignment with our Supplier Code of Conduct, we expect all of our suppliers to behave responsibly, ethically, and sustainably. Active monitoring of our suppliers helps us ensure they are compliant with relevant legislation and key elements of our Supplier Code of Conduct. We hold our suppliers to the same high standards to which we hold ourselves.

Respect for human rights is deeply embedded in how we carry out business and interact with our communities and is outlined in our Human Rights Policy.

Data privacy and information security

Data is at the core of everything we do and protecting it is crucial. Our employees and customers count on us, as an employer and service provider, to anticipate and actively manage all information security and data privacy risks. Our success, and the success of every stakeholder, depends on this.

OpenText maintains industry best practices for incorporating data protection and privacy into our daily activities, as defined by our ISO/IEC 27001:2022, ISO/IEC 27017:2015 and ISO/IEC 27018:2019 Global Information Security Management System.

We are committed to:

  • A science-based emissions target of 50% reduction by 2030 and net-zero by 2050.
  • Zero-waste from operations by 2030.

We are proud to announce that OpenText has committed to setting near- and long-term company-wide emission reductions in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
