At OpenText, we are committed to our role as a responsible corporate citizen and believe the future must be both sustainable and inclusive. In keeping with this promise, OpenText has developed a funding program to help ensure we direct our resources in a way that makes the most impact. As a participant of the UN Global Compact, we have identified six UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) where we can make a meaningful impact with our funds, our technology, and our employees. For our purposes, we will refer to these as the OpenText Sustainability Goals.
OpenText Corporate Giving will direct funds to charities and non-profit organizations that are working to address the identified Sustainability Goals. Our guiding principle is to think globally and act locally. By investing in the communities where we live and work, our worldwide workforce will create global impact. As such, the majority of our gifts will be directed to organizations, selected for support by employees, that operate in their local communities and align with at least one of our six identified Sustainability Goals.
In addition to the identified Sustainability Goals, we will also at times take action to support recovery efforts to lessen the devastating impact of natural or unexpected socio-economic disasters.
To be eligible for funding from OpenText Corporation, organizations are expected to satisfy the following criteria:
OpenText Corporate Giving is intended to fund services provided by the charity. Therefore, we will not consider requests to fund trips for employees of a charity to conferences and conventions, or their meals, accommodations, or travel expenses.
In addition, we will not make contributions to support the following:

However, OpenText will consider funding organizations that assist individuals or groups who have been subject to discrimination.
As a condition of providing funding, OpenText will require that: a) the charity represents and warrants that it is and will remain during the term of any funding hereunder in compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations, and b) the charity agrees that it will not promote or engage in violence, terrorism, bigotry, or the destruction of any country, nor will it make subgrants or give funding to any entity that engages in these activities.
