A customer journey can begin and end digitally. Often, a customer’s first interactions are through digital experiences and content. A cohesive and modern approach is more important than ever to match experiences to customer choice, including self-service, preferred channel, and next best action.
Both terms refer to managing content. Content Management Systems (CMS) are considered broader while Web Content Management is more specific to web experiences and content. CMS can also be confused with Enterprise Content Management (ECM) and other forms of collaboration.
